Integral University Organizes a One-Day Workshop on the 
Role of AI in Transforming Journalism

 
Lucknow: The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Integral University, Lucknow organized a one-day workshop on “AI tools in the Newsroom: Emphasizing the Role of AI in Transforming Journalism”. Dr. Nimish Kapoor, Sr. Scientist, Department of Science and Technology, Vigyan Prasar, New Delhi, joined the workshop as the resource person. The program began with the welcome address by Dr. Mohammad Arafat Hasan Rizvi, assistant professor, who introduced resource person and the topic of the workshop. 

Dr. Kapoor started the session with a brief idea about artificial intelligence and its application in the media industry.  He discussed the role of Google Pinpoint as a platform to store, manage, and analyse data. He started that Google Pinpoint was launched as a part of Google News Initiative, where a large number of data can be stored and shared easily. While giving a detailed demonstration to students, he also highlighted use of other tools like Tabula and the importance of data verification, data handling, use of Google Dataset Search. 
Prof. Abdur Rahman Khan, Controller of Examinations, Integral University thanked the resource person and congratulated the department of mass communication for organizing a session on such a relevant topic.Mr. Md. Zubair, Coordinator, presented a memento to the resource person and Dr. Rashid Ansari, Associate Professor, delivered the vote of thanks. Prof. Adeel Maqbool, Dean, faculty of Commerce, Dr. Shafey Anwarul Haque, Mr. Mohd. Rehan Irfan, Ms. Nafisa Razi, Dr, Mansoor Ilahi, Dr. Md. Shahwaiz, Dr. Sultan Ahmad, Dr.  Shujauddin, Dr. Zain Mohammad Sulaiman, and Ms. Amna Khan attended the program.
