3rd FICCI International Fragrance Business Summit 2024 inaugurated at CSIR-CIMAP to focus on emerging opportunities for the Indian Fragrance Industry, through sustainable practices and harmonising global standards for consumer protection
 
 
Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) organised one day 3rd International Fragrance Summit 2024, at CSIR-CMAP, Lucknow under CSIR One Week One Theme initiative. This initiative is being organized in collaboration of CSIR-CMAP, Lucknow, supported by Ministry of MSME, Government of India and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and Industry Partners, International Fragrance Association (IFRA), Ultra International Limited and Eternis Fine Chemicals Ltd.

Key Topics of discussion during the Summit were Enhancing Economic Growth through Sustainable Development Practices and Innovation; Emerging Fragrance Markets-Opportunities for India and Skill Development and Harmonizing Fragrance Safety: Creating Global Standards for Consumer Protection. Bringing together industry leaders, experts, and enthusiasts to explore the latest trends, technologies, and innovations in the fragrance sector.

Dr Prabodh Kumar Trivedi, Director, CSIR-CIMAP welcomed the delegates and briefed the audience about the research activities of CSIR- CIMAP. He told that CSIR-CIMAP under the Aroma Mission has developed a model sustainable cluster where CIMAP technologies have been implemented and can be implemented across the country in collaboration with industry.

Shri. Avnish Kumar Awasthi, chief advisor of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Government of Uttar Pradesh was the chief guest of the inaugural program. Shri Awasthi asserted that for India to become a 5 trillion dollar economy, agriculture needs to be focused especially fragrant crops need to be cultivated for their value addition and market. He appreciated the efforts of CSIR-CIMAP in taking the technologies to the farmer’s and enhancing their income.

MOU were exchanged between FICCI and IFRA, CSIR-CIMAP and Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur. 
Three Technologies on Production of Lutein from Marigold flowers using green technology were transferred of  to M/s COROMANDEL INTERNATIONAL LTD, Secunderabad, Telangana; Production of Polymeric Beads Technology for Mosquito Larvicidal to M/s. Yauvanchakra Private Limited, Jaipur, Rajasthan and Green Tea Technology to M/s Vyom. A Short film on Sustainable Aroma clusters was also released during the occasion.
