Day 1 of RAITB-NFL Conference Showcases AI’s Transformative Impact on Business
Dr. Sheetal, Dean Academics at IILM Lucknow and the Conference Patron, delivered the welcome address, presenting the conference’s concept note. Keynote Address Highlights:
Keynote Address by Dr. Akbar Saeed: Dr. Saeed spoke on "Algorithmic Bias: A Socio-Technical Perspective," shedding light on how biases in AI algorithms can replicate societal inequities. Citing examples such as credit card companies offering lower credit limits to women, he outlined strategies to tackle such biases, including accountability, value alignment, explainability, fairness, and user data rights. Dr. Saeed also presented a model for designing fair AI systems, stressing the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure ethical AI applications.
Keynote Address by Dr. Vibhuti Gupta: Dr. Vibhuti discussed "AI-Savvy Leader and AI-Savvy Leadership," sharing insights from her research on AI’s role in policing, corporates and differences of approach toward AI integration amongst tech and non-tech business leaders. She highlighted Dubai Police’s use of AI for innovative law enforcement practices. She also addressed the recent partnership between Meta and UP Police to address societal challenges such as identifying suicidal tendencies through social media. Dr. Vibhuti emphasized the role of generative AI in augmenting leadership capabilities, calling for leaders to effectively integrate AI for impactful decision-making.

Technical Session 1 Summary
The first technical session, chaired by Prof. Manisha Seth (Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow) and moderated by Dr. Vibhuti Gupta (IILM Lucknow), explored the theme of "Application of AI in Management Functions" through six impactful research papers. The presenters represented esteemed institutions like IFTM University, University of Lucknow, St. Xavier’s College (Kathmandu), Jamia Hamdard (New Delhi), MCNUJC Bhopal, and IILM Lucknow. The studies delved into AI’s transformative potential in banking, recruitment, marketing, HR, financial literacy, and branding. Topics included AI’s role in post-merger banking efficiency, AI-driven recruitment’s ability to reduce bias, the personalization of marketing through AI to build consumer trust, and its use in HR for workforce optimization.
Other presentations discussed AI’s contribution to improving financial literacy through tools like robo-advisors and its impact on brand perception through chatbots and personalized content. While emphasizing AI’s benefits in improving efficiency, streamlining processes, and fostering consumer trust, the discussions also highlighted challenges such as algorithmic bias, ethical concerns, and the importance of transparency. The session concluded with valuable feedback from the chair, encouraging further exploration of AI’s integration across industries.
