The 'Ped Jiao' slogan embodies this commitment to nurturing and sustaining our green cover," he stated.

Dr. Heera Lal's vision for the model village includes rainwater harvesting systems, efficient irrigation methods, and community-driven initiatives to protect and enhance the local biodiversity. His proposal aims to set a precedent for other communities to follow, promoting a holistic approach to environmental conservation.

Professor Mohammad Serajuddin, Head of the Department of Zoology, stressed the importance of creating a green campus and green city. "Our university is committed to promoting environmental sustainability. This plantation drive is a step towards a greener campus, which in turn contributes to a greener city. We must all take responsibility for nurturing these plants and ensuring their growth," he said.

Professor Sudhir Mehrotra, Head of the Department of Biochemistry, echoed this sentiment, stating, "Green spaces are essential for our well-being and ecological balance. By planting and caring for these trees, we are investing in our future. Our goal is to create a green oasis within the university that sets an example for the entire city."

Professor Amita Kanaujiya, Director of the Institute of Wildlife Sciences, added, "Our collaborative efforts in this plantation drive highlight the importance of interdisciplinary approaches to environmental conservation. Together, we can make a significant impact and inspire others to join us in creating a sustainable and green environment." She further suggested that every research scholar should plant a tree and ensure its survival as a prerequisite for obtaining their PhD degree, reinforcing the importance of personal responsibility in environmental stewardship.

Representatives from Neel Jahan Foundation and Ek Pahal Muskurahat Ki Welfare Society expressed their commitment to supporting such initiatives in the future. They echoed Dr. Heera Lal's sentiments, emphasizing the need for collective efforts in creating a greener, healthier planet.
