Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).Taking forward the efforts being made by the Government of Uttar Pradesh to end Violence Against women, the skit 'Haqiqat' was presented on 18 November 2024 at Mahatma Gandhi Park, opposite To Tagore library of University of Lucknow under the joint aegis of Gender Sensitization Cell of the University and Kavyom Parivar, the student literary unit of the University .

In the event  an attempt was made to explain that gender is a social construct and no work gender specific , hence ,woman or a man, both should do every work in a partnership. The objective of this program was to look at women with respect and inspire them to fight against patriarchal thinking, raise their voice against  injustice and ensure that everyone gets respect and security in the university campus.

It may be noted that this cell was constituted by the Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai in 2020, since then this cell has been continuously organizing various programs to spread awareness about gender equality in the campus and this program was a part of this series. During this presentation, Gender Sensitization Cell Convenor Prof. Roli Misra and other members of the cell Dr. Prashant Shukla, Dr. Sonali Rai Chaudhary and Dr. Dinesh Yadav were present.

Along with this, Dr. Harnam Singh from the Department of Economics of the University and Prof Archana Tiwari from the Western Department also participated. This street play was presented by Kavyom family members Kaunteya Jai, Devansh Tiwari, Arpit Singh, Prashant Kushwaha, Anushka Pathak, Prachi, Rupali Shekhar, Rishita Prajapati, Fauzia Ambri, Darshika, Aryan Singh, Rohit Kumar. A large number of students were present to watch this street play. An attempt was made to create awareness about gender equality through this skit.  After the presentation many students presented their experiences, ideas and suggestions regarding gender issues and how to end violence against women.
