University of Lucknow organized a lecture on the theme- The Intersection of Law Enforcement and Human Rights
The event was commenced by Member, Legal Aid Centre Ms. Garima Bhardwaj by warmly welcoming the audience and the Keynote Guest Speaker IPS Shivani Tiwari, SP and Head, CBI, Lucknow along with Chairperson, Legal Aid Centre, Dr. Abhishek Kumar Tiwari, Co- Chairperson, Legal Aid Centre, Dr.
Bhawna Singh, Facutly Incharge, Pro-Bono Club, Dr. Alok Kumar Yadav and Associate Professor, Facutly of Law, (Dr.) Chandrasen Pratap Singh. Dr. Abhishek Sir was invited on the stage to address the audience with his gracious words. Then the Guest speaker was cordially invited on stage to give her insights on the Human Rights and the Intersection of Law Enforcement. She shared her experiences of Civil Services and how the laws are continuously evolving.
She also highlighted how people embrace their trust within the law enforcing authorities by giving examples from her own experiences. She also mentioned about her experiences with Naxalites in Garhwa area in Jharkhand and how these law enforcing agencies are working in these difficult law and order situations to protect human rights of the people residing there with better interrogation techniques. She also mentioned about the challenges for the youth to distinguish between false naratives which are set up by people about law enforcing agencies and how they protect human rights of the people. The lecture was informative and her own experiences made it more insightful. The event was concluded by Co-Chairperson, Legal Aid Centre, Dr. Bhawna by giving vote of thanks to IPS Shivani Tiwari Ma'am and to all the audience.
