Even after winning the series, the problems of head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav increased
South Africa vs India, 4th T20I: Team India's South Africa tour is over. The Indian team won the 4-match T20 series 3-1. In the last match of the series, the host team could not even compete with India. With the help of Sanju Samson and Tilak Verma's centuries, India scored 283 runs for one wicket while playing first. South Africa's batting failed and the entire team was all out for 148 runs.
Young batsman Tilak Verma scored two centuries in two consecutive matches. In the third match of the T20 series held in Centurion, he played an unbeaten innings of 107 runs. Tilak's bat spoke once again in the fourth match. He scored a century in just 41 balls. Playing at number three, he remained unbeaten after scoring 120 runs. In his 47-ball innings, Tilak Verma hit 9 fours as well as 10 sixes. Tilak Verma was not even a part of India's first choice T20 team.
He was not included in the series against Bangladesh last month. But Tilak came into the team due to Shivam Dubey's injury. Even after this, he sat on the bench in all three matches against Bangladesh. He got a chance in South Africa when players like Riyan Parag and Nitish Reddy were not there.
Here Tilak has strengthened his claim by scoring two centuries. Head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav are now facing a problem. Tilak has scored a century while batting at number 3. Captain Suryakumar Yadav himself plays at this number. If Surya lowers his batting order and the entire team is available, then one of them will have to be out. In such a situation, selection of players is not going to be easy for the management of Team India before big series and tournaments.
