India vs New Zealand, 3rd Test: This 22-year-old player will make his debut against New Zealand in the Mumbai Test match

India vs New Zealand, 3rd Test: Young fast bowler Harshit Rana, who played a key role in Delhi's first win in the current season of Ranji Trophy, will join the Indian team before the third Test against New Zealand in Mumbai. Rana was released for Delhi's match against Assam before the second Test played in Pune.

The Indian team lost this match by 113 runs. With this, the team fell behind New Zealand 0-2 in the three-match series. This is the team's first defeat in a Test series on home ground in 12 years. Rana will join the Indian team in Mumbai on Wednesday, two days before the match starts at the Wankhede Stadium.

It is not clear whether his presence in the dressing room will be as a reserve or as a team member. The 22-year-old bowler has been selected in the main team for the five Test matches starting in Perth from November 22 in Australia. A BCCI source said, 'Harshit will join the team tomorrow (Wednesday).

'The Indian team management is carefully monitoring the workload of the fast bowlers before the Australia tour, so there is a possibility that Jasprit Bumrah, an experienced player in this department, may be rested from the third Test. If this happens, the possibility of Rana's debut will increase.

Rana took five wickets in the first innings against Assam and then took two wickets in the second innings. Delhi won this match by 10 wickets. Delhi head coach Sarandeep Singh said that Rana is ready for Test cricket. Former BCCI selector Sarandeep told PTI-Bhasha, 'He is ready to play Test cricket.

He is a player with a positive attitude. He has a good understanding of the match conditions and is ready to deal with challenges at the top level.' He said, 'He bowled with all his heart for Delhi and he is always looking for wickets. He also has the ability to bat. He has the ability to bowl long spells.

I hope he does really well in Australia.' Rana took five wickets in 19.3 overs in the first innings against Assam and two wickets in 11 overs in the second innings. He also contributed 59 runs with the bat in the first innings. Rana also impressed in the two matches played in the Duleep Trophy last month.
