Energy Literacy Training and Climate Clock Awareness program was organized at CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow
*Global warming beyond 1.5°C will prove disastrous to the over 3 billion people: Says IPCC report*
Bureau chief R L Pandey
Lucknow। Climate change is impacting societies globally but warming beyond 1.5°C will prove disastrous to the over 3 billion people who live in places highly vulnerable to climate change as reported by Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). So to spread the awareness towards Climate Clock and its importance, Climate Change and its consequences among youth Energy Literacy training programs were organized at CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow for the students of HYGIA college of Pharmacy, Lucknow; HYGIA Institute of Pharmacy, Lucknow and Vivek College of Technology Education Bijnour, Uttar Pradesh under the umbrella of the CSIR JIGYASA Program to commemorate the World Earth Day
The Energy Literacy Training program celebrated from 24th April to 27th April almost 150 students and 12 faculty from three different colleges participated in awareness program.
*Ticking of Climate Clock alerts us for Climate Change*
Participants were briefed about the real time data of climate clock through the website (https://climateclock.world/). Clock shows the time how much time is left to reach the global temperature increase by 1.5°C on the basis of real time data and if temperature increased then its consequence will be irreversible. Participants were motivated to take the Energy Literacy training and act accordingly to save the climate. Participants took the oath to save the Climate and to reduce the Carbon footprint.
Dr. Sanjeev Yadav Senior Scientist CDRI Lucknow delivered a speech on advert effect of climate change, with the emission of greenhouse gases mainly CO2, temperature of earth is rising day by day which leads to the melt of glacier and rise of sea level. The Coastal areas of many countries are almost on the verge of submersion.
*During Student-Scientist Connect program participants understood the know-how of Drug development*
As this Student-Scientist Connect program was organized under the aegis of JIGYASA, he delivered a motivational talk on Career opportunities for Pharmacy Students.
