Integral University and UltraTech Cement Ltd. Inaugurates the
Centre of Excellence for Advance Building Material and Sustainable Development
Syed Waseem Akhtar, Hon’ble Chancellor and Founder, Intergal University, in the presence of Dr. Syed Nadeem Akhtar, Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor, Intergal University, Prof. Jawed Mosarrat, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Intergal University, Prof. Mohammad Haris Siddiqui, Registrar, Intergal University Er. Supreet Singh Dhadwal, Zonal Technical Head, UltraTech Cement Ltd., Er. Rajeeb Kumar, Technical Head (Building Product Division), UltraTech Cement Ltd., Prof. Ashok Tiwari, Head, Capacity Building, UltraTech Cement Ltd., Mr. Vivek Jain, JoinT President & Zonal Head S&M, UltraTech Cement Ltd., Prof. Syed Aqeel Ahmad, Head, Department of Civil Engineering, Integral University, formally unveiled the centre, and other dignitaries.
The inauguration ceremony was followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Civil Engineering, Integral University, Lucknow, and the UltraTech Cement. The program began with the bouquet presentation to the guests and welcome address by Prof. Syed Aqeel Ahmad, who highlighted that it signifies the collaboration between the industry and academia and theory and practice as well. Prof. Haris Siddiqui narrated the history of the Integral University to the guests and also thanked them for their collaboration.
Er. Supreet Singh Dhadwal introduced the newly established centre and insisted that it is the firsr of kind in Uttar Pradesh which would impart training related to advanced building materials, waterproofing, concrete design and so on. While Er. Rajeeb Kumar said that the centre would help in bridging the gap between theory and practice besides focusing on new-age construction technology, Prof. Ashok Tiwari discussed the role of centre in providing skill development and training opportunities related to woking on ready-mix concrete and other significant areas of construction technology.
Prof. Javed Mosarrat, Vice Chancellor, appreciated this initiative of the Dept of Civil Engineering and marled it as a reflection of university’s commitment in maintaining relationship with the industry and providing skill development and training opportunities to the students. He insisted that the MoU would open up avenues for research in advanced building materials and solar-powered cement. Dr. Neha Mumtaz, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Integral University conducted the program while Mr. Zishan Raza Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Integral University delivered the vote of thanks.
