Integral University Researcher Awarded Prestigious DST Research Grant

Lucknow: Dr. Slaman Khan of the Department of Biosciences, Integral University, Lucknow has been awarded a significant research grant by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. This grant will fund pioneering research into the development of a nano drug delivery system specifically targeting Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and Type 2 Diabetes (T2D). Prof. Javed Musarrat, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, said that Integral University is known for its commitment to advanced scientific research and offers world-class infrastructure within its sprawling campus, providing an enriching environment for research and innovation, supporting its researchers in their quest to make impactful discoveries. 

The research project focuses on creating an innovative nano drug delivery system aimed at the Amyloid beta Peptide, implicated in Alzheimer's Disease, and the Islet Amyloid Polypeptide, associated with Type 2 Diabetes. Successful development of this system can revolutionize therapeutic interventions, offering new hope for effective treatment of these debilitating conditions.

This research not only aims to advance the scientific understanding of AD and T2D but also holds the promise of significantly improving the quality of life for millions of individuals affected by these disorders.
