Scientific Aptitude Assessment initiative organized by CSIR headquarters

Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).Under the unique CSIR-Jigyasa program, CSIR-NBRI actively participated alongside all CSIR laboratories in the “Scientific Aptitude Assessment” initiative organized by CSIR headquarters. This activity aimed to trial the “LAB@HOME” kit for DNA isolation. Fifteen students and two teachers from PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, participated in the program.
The students performed DNA isolation using the kits provided by CSIR-IGIB and subsequently completed a short questionnaire to assess their understanding. They also toured the molecular biology laboratory, where they were introduced to key techniques such as PCR and gel electrophoresis. Additionally, the students visited the exposition facility to explore more scientific concepts.
After the program, Dr. Vivek Srivastava, Nodal PI of Jigyasa, distributed certificates to all participants. The event was successfully coordinated and managed by the dedicated members of the Jigyasa team.
