Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).The School of Medical Sciences & Research at Sharda University organized “Cadaveric Oath ceremony” on Thursday, November 21, 2024, under the guidance of Dean Dr. Nirupma Gupta.
During this ceremony, the Head of the Department of Anatomy, Dr. Ram Prakash Gupta, along with the faculty and first-year MBBS Batch 2024-25 students, took an oath. They solemnly pledged to treat cadavers with respect, ensure confidentiality and privacy, and use the knowledge they acquire to serve society better.
Additionally, they will express gratitude to the donors and their families for their generous contribution, an act referred to as "Living After Death." The practice occurs before the start of anatomy dissection, which is essential for first-year medical students. During this ceremony, students make a vow to respect and maintain the confidentiality of cadavers, viewing them as the 'First Teacher' in their pursuit of an MBBS degree.
