Uttar Pradesh desk Lucknow ( R L Pandey ).The CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute celebrated National Technology Day 2024 with great fervor and enthusiasm. A Lecture of the Series on Translational Research also conducted on the same day. Dr. Shinjini Bhatnagar, Distinguished Professor and a physician scientist from Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), Faridabad grace the occasion as chief guest. The Scientists of CDRI, research scholar, inventor of different technology and those who successfully filed their patents during last year were also felicitated on this occasion.


The event commenced with a warm welcome by the Director, CSIR-CDRI, Dr. Radha Rangarajan, who set the tone for the National Technology Day proceedings. Dr. Shinjini Bhatnagar delivered a captivating lecture on "Research from Evidence to Clinical Practice and Policy; Identifying Priorities Early,” emphasizing the critical importance of translating research findings into actionable clinical practices and policies. She Said Biomedical-Sciences and technology is the key to interpretation of the complexity of our lives. She also talked about the improvement done in WHO Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) in India with optimum concentration of Glucose. In her talk she also focuses the maternal and child health which is a key determinant of healthy society.

 She also informed about GARBH-Ini (interdisciplinary Group for Advance Research on Birth Outcome) initiative of DBT India which is secondary care hospital based pregnancy cohort which collect medical data of pregnant woman help in early detection of disease.  Dr. Bhatnagar's insightful discourse shed light on the crucial role of early identification of research priorities in shaping the healthcare landscape. Her expertise and invaluable insights left the audience inspired and enlightened.

The event also witnessed the release of the Institute's Annual Report for the year 2023-2024, showcasing the remarkable strides made in the realm of drug research and development.
Furthermore, Dr. Radha Rangarajan congratulated and felicitated the inventors who have pioneered new technologies and developed groundbreaking patents, underscoring CDRI's commitment to innovation and advancement in the pharmaceutical domain.In closing, Dr. Manoj Barthwal, Chairperson of the event, extended a vote of thanks to all participants, speakers, and attendees for their valuable contributions and active participation in making the National Technology Day celebration a resounding success.
