The Department of Pathology, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow conducted a workshop on “Understanding Lymphoma Diagnosis- Live Microscopy Session” on 26th April 2024. The workshop was organised as part of the pre-conference workshop of ‘1st Annual Conference of the UP Hematology group (UPHGCON-24)’ under the patronage of Prof. CM Singh, Director, Dr RMLIMS and Prof.

Pradyumn Singh, Dean and Professor Pathology, Dr RMLIMS. Prof. SP Verma from Department of Clinical Hematology, King George's Medical University and Organizing Secretary of UPHGCON-24 was the guest of honour.  Prof. Nuzhat Husain, Head Department of Pathology, Dr RMLIMS was the Organizing Chairperson and Prof. Namrata Punit Awasthi, Professor Department of Pathology was the Workshop Coordinator.  

Department of Pathology, Lucknow organized a workshop on “Understanding Lymphoma Diagnosis – Live Microscopy Session” on 26th April 2024.

The workshop was conceptualised as a full day session to discuss the diagnostic aspects of tumors of the lymph nodes known as lymphomas. To deal with this critical and difficult aspect of Pathology diagnosis, Prof. Sumeet Gujral from Department of Pathology, Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai and Brig. Tathagata Chatterjee, Director Professor Hematology & Pathology ESIC MCH, Faridabad delivered lectures and presented microscopy of cases with an interactive discussion with the audience. Prof. Pradyumn Singh and Prof. Namrata Punit Awasthi discussed the nuances of lymphomas which involve the skin and those which mimic other tumors leading to a delay in diagnosis. 

The workshop was attended by over fifty delegates from in and around Uttar Pradesh. Hands-on live microscopic viewing by participants along with image projection and audio recording was utilized with an overwhelming response from the delegates. The workshop was interactive, well appreciated by all participants and successful in providing a practical learning experience from the masters of the subject. The workshop helped in furthering the goal of the Department of Pathology, Dr RMLIMS of creating a state level training centre for diagnostic facilities.
