Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).The Indian Investor Federation successfully hosted the 9th Banking Leadership Summit at the renowned Taj Mahal Hotel in Lucknow on 23 December. This prestigious event attracted a diverse group of banking dignitaries, financial experts, and industry leaders who came together to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities within the Indian banking sector. The event received generous support from CP Milk & Food Products Private Limited.

Anupama Anand, the Principal Additional Director General of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) in New Delhi, was the chief guest. Other distinguished dignitaries in attendance included Ajay Khanna, General Manager of the Central Bank of India; Amrendra Kumar, General Manager of the Bank of India; Pankaj Kumar, Chief General Manager of NABARD; Sharad Chandak, Chief General Manager of SBI; Ajay Thakur, CEO and Managing Partner of TGI SME Capital Advisor LLP; Mritunjay, General Manager of PNB; Ranjeev Kumar, General Manager of Canara Bank; Anuj Agarwal, Managing Director of CP Milk; and Rajesh Kumar, General Manager of UBI, and Aditya Prakash DGM Bank of Maharashtra.

The summit began with the guest lighting a lamp. The key event was the panel discussion, during which participants discussed digitalization in the banking sector and its effect on the future of the Indian economy.
Anupama Anand expressed her view that India growing rapidly to become the largest economy in the world and that public sector banks are playing a crucial role in this progress. She noted that the digitization of Indian banks and the income tax system has greatly increased convenience for the general public. This advancement has contributed to economic growth and has accelerated the pace of development.
Sharad Chandak, Chief General Manager of SBI, expressed his thoughts, stating, "Digitization in India began with the introduction of ATMs. However, facilities like UPI and now SIPs, along with easy access to bank loans through digital platforms, have made significant strides. As a result, we are witnessing economic transformation, even in small villages and towns."
A key highlight of the summit was the Banking Leadership Awards, which recognized the exceptional contributions of banking leaders who have shown a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer service. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Sharad Chandak, Chief General Manager of SBI.
The GM of the Year award was presented to A.K. Khanna from the Central Bank of India. The Deputy General Manager of the Year award was given to Ashutosh Singh from UCO Bank. Furthermore, the AGM of the Year award went to Manish Srivastava from UBI Bank. The Bank of the Year award was presented to SBI Bank. In the same category, Bank of Baroda and Indian Bank shared the second position, while Canara Bank secured third place. 
Anuj Aggarwal, Managing Director of CP Milk and Food Products Private Limited, received the Business Leader of the Year award.
Recognizing the importance of sports for the country, Viraj Katyayan, who has represented India at both national and international levels in karate, was honoured with the Youngest Awardee of the Year. Viraj travelled from Gurugram with his parents to receive this special award.
Senior officials from various banks and their teams were recognized in multiple categories. Ajay Thakur, CEO of TGI SME, congratulated the entire team at the Indian Investor Federation and described the program as one of the most significant initiatives in the banking sector. The event concluded with the national anthem.
