Mr. Sunil Banka of Saharaganj shared on Friday that Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, is a symbol of victory and joy. Across the country, this occasion is marked by fairs and the burning of Ravana's effigy. Durga idols are worshipped in puja pandals, and Ramlilas are staged in various locales. Vijayadashami is considered an auspicious day for embarking on new ventures. To enhance the festive cheer, Saharaganj is organizing this event to double the happiness of the people by offering gifts through various competitions. Popular activities include a General Knowledge Quiz, Dumb Charades, Painting competition 'Draw on my back', and Spot the Difference. Additionally, the event will feature a fashion show and devotional music by Watkar Sisters. Both children and their parents are encouraged to participate, with winners receiving shopping, food and movie vouchers as prizes.
Program Highlights
General Knowledge Quiz:
This quiz will mirror popular television quiz shows, with the audience divided into four teams. Two members from each team will compete on stage, with questions displayed on an LED screen along with answer options. The fastest team to press the buzzer with the correct answer will be declared the winner.
Dumb Charades:
A beloved family game where one team member uses gestures to convey the name of a movie, serial, etc., without speaking. The team must guess the title based on these clues.
Draw on My Back:
A unique painting competition where parents draw on the backs of their children, who then attempt to replicate the drawing. The participants' creations will be showcased on a large LED screen.
Spot the Difference:
A popular challenge where participants must identify differences between two seemingly identical images displayed on an LED screen.
Fashion Show:
A distinctive fashion parade celebrating Vijayadashami, where participants aged 8 to 12 will walk the ramp in attire blending modernity and tradition, themed around the Ramayana. Those who best embody this fusion through their outfits will be rewarded.
Musical Performance by Watkar Sisters:
A major attraction of the event will be the musical performance by the Watkar Sisters from Nagpur. Bhagyashree and Dhanashree Watkar, known for their rendition of 'Hum Katha Sunate Ram Sakal Gun Dham Ki..', have been lauded for their performances on significant occasions such as the Bhoomi Pujan and Deepotsav in Ayodhya. Their devotional songs, based on the life of Shri Ram, will be a musical retelling of Shri Ram Katha on Vijayadashami, adding deeper meaning to this festive event.
