NBRI-EIACP’s organized Tree Plantation Drive under #ek_ped_maa_ke_naam initiative of Honourable Prime Minister
Uttar Pradesh desk Lucknow (R L Pandey).The Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme Centre (EIACP) at CSIR-NBRI, Lucknow organized a tree plantation drive under Eco Club for Mission LiFE Day" at City Montessori School (CMS), Vardan Khand, Lucknow to commemorate #ek_ped_maa_ke_naam initiative of honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.


A total of 35 students alongwith their mothers participated in the plantation drive. Plant saplings such Amla, Kachnaar, Guava, Arjun, and Jamun were planted in the school premises. The initiative, titled "Plant4Mother" of Government of India is  aimed to foster environmental awareness and community engagement. 


On the occasion Dr. Ajit Kumar Shasany, Director of CSIR-NBRI while addressing the participants emphasized the importance of plantation and youth-led efforts to promote environmental conservation aligned with the Government of India's Mission LiFE.


Participants, including students, mothers, and NBRI-EIACP staff were participated in the event with great enthusiasm. Mothers of students appreciated the initiative which will subsequently strengthen their bond with each other and the environment. The participants were also administered the Mission Life Pledge on the occasion.


The "Eco Club for Mission LiFE Day" also served as an educational opportunity, teaching students about the importance of trees and their care. NBRI EIACP Centre distributed informative materials to further enhance their understanding. This initiative reflects NBRI-EIACP's dedication to environmental conservation and raising awareness about the crucial role of tree plantation.


Various dignitaries including Mr. Sitanshu Pandey (DFO Awadh Forest Division), Dr. Pankaj Kumar Srivastava (Senior Principal Scientist, NBRI & Coordinator NBRI-EIACP), Dr. Sharad K Srivastava (Chief Scientist, NBRI), Dr. Anju Patel (Scientist, NBRI & Co-Coordinator, NBRI-EIACP), and Ms. Manjit Batra (Senior Principal of CMS) were present on the occasion.
