Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).To raise awareness about patient safety Dr. Richa Choudhary (Prof. & Head) Dept. Of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Dr. RMLIMS, organized CME on the topic "Improving Diagnosis for Patient Safety," emphasizing the importance of collaboration between healthcare providers and patients. Chief guest of the CME was Dr. C.M. Singh, Director, Dr.RMLIMS, Lucknow.


Dr. Mukesh Yadav, additional DGME, U.P. was the Guest of honour, along with Dr. Pradyuman Singh, Dean, Dr. RMLIMS, Dr. Shamrendra Narayan (Professor ),Dept. Of Radio diagnosis, Dr. Jyotsna Aggarwal, Executive registrar, Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh, CMS, Dr. RMLIMS, Dr. Subrat Chandra (Prof and Head) Dept of transfusion medicine.

Professor CM Singh spoke about how the need to address Patient Safety Incidents and the necessity of  acknowledging the medical errors to device strategies to avoid them in future 
Topics such as "Doctors duty in patients'rights to diagnostic safety" presented by Dr. Mukesh Yadav, focusing on the rights of patients and approach of a doctor.

Haemovigilance in transfusion to improve patient safety", was covered by Dr. Subrat Chandra, guiding us about the safety protocol during transfusion."Diagnostic errors meeting the challenges" was covered by Shamrendra Narayan pointing out the common errors happening during routine duty and how to overcome those errors Mr Roshan James shared insights on newer techniques in Toxicology Testing.

Dr Richa Choudhary talked on the importance of Toxicovigilance and its importance in Indian scenario highlighting the various toxic cosmetics and toxic foods being consumed by the community in the present times World Patient Safety Day, observed on September 17th, is a global initiative led by the World Health Organization (WHO) to raise awareness and take action to prevent harm in healthcare.
