Uttar Pradesh desk ( R L Pandey ). A pleasant start to an uphill task.Pipra Ghat Gomti river cleaning campaign started under the aegis of Naman Vasundhara Trust. A group of youth committed to environmental protection engaged in Shramdaan from 5 am in the morning. Today, more than fifty young volunteers including doctors, CAs, theater actors, environmentalists, social workers, students all joined hands in the cleaning campaign on the banks of river Gomti at Pipra Ghat.

Approximately 500 kgs of waste collected and disposed off by the volunteers today. The Trust expects the number of volunteers shall grow into thousands, in coming seasons.The Municipal Corporation also cooperated. Just yesterday, some hand tools and gloves were provided to the Trust. And today a garbage disposal vehicle had also arrived at the spot.Naman Vasundhara Trust expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers who dedicated their time, energy and resources. Talking about the long-term impacts of this campaign, the Trust hopes that this initiative will ensure a clean and healthy environment not only for today, but also for future generations.

The lead group of committed volunteers comprises of Naman Vasundhara Founder Trustee Snehil Kumar lal, Trustee Shahabaz Khan, volunteers Dr. Sameer Ahmad, Dr. Siddharth J. David, Theatre actor-Akshay Dixit , Advocate Mani Prakash, Social activist Khushnaaz Homawazir, Shubham Srivastava and Sankalp Srivastava (software engineer), Fahad Mushir-digital media manager, Mouli Mehrotra- social worker, Chartered Accountant- Deepak Awasthi.
