Lucknow desk (R L Pandey): Study Hall School organised its Annual Sports Day with the theme "Run for the Climate" on wednesday, 18 December 2024 at the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Gomti Nagar. Chief guest Sujit Kumar Shrivastava Ex. captain of the Indian hockey team and Guest of Honour Prof. Rakesh Pathak, Head of Physical Education dept. National Pg College were present at the occasion.


The lighting of the torch kickstarted the proceedings, followed by a march-past by the school head boy,  head girl, sports captains and the house captains. To merge the thrill of athletics with a compelling environmental message that loudly echoed the essence of Sustainable Development Goal 13, emphasizing climate action and raising awareness about the importance of protecting our planet.

Sports Day is not just about winning or losing; it's about building character, embracing teamwork, and striving for personal bests. Today, as we celebrate fitness, let us also remember our responsibility towards the environment and work together for a sustainable future," said Meenakshi Bahadur, Principal, Study Hall SchoolThe chief guest Sujit Kumar Srivastava said, “Sports teach us resilience, discipline, and the power of unity. Study Hall’s young athletes today have inspired us to carry the lessons of discipline and resilience  to take steps in creating a sustainable future.”


Today’s events showcase not just talent and determination but also the creativity and dedication of our children in addressing global challenges like climate change. Through their sports and drills, they inspire us to take collective action for a healthier planet while embodying the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork,” said the guest of honour, Prof. Rakesh Pathak.


A major highlight of the day was "Chakke pe Chakka", an eco-friendly event that saw enthusiastic participation from parents.. Teachers also  added to the excitement with their performance in a race titled "Aa Dekhein Zara". Students displayed their athletic skills in a variety of events, including sprints, relays, and obstacle races. The cheerleaders energized the crowd with vibrant performances, showcasing chants composed by the students themselves,bringing out the house  spirit and celebrating the elements of nature. Events like "Under the Canopy" by Class 6, "Eco Warriors" by Class 7, "We Stun in Unison" by Class 9, Shaurya: Echoes of Synergy by Class 8. 
The grand finale, "Ek Soch Hai Jaagi",  was a heartfelt tribute to Mother Earth. Students, parents, and teachers came together, Holding banners with messages like "Every Step Counts for the Planet" and "Run Now, Breathe Tomorrow", they advocated for sustainable living and inspired the audience. The event concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony,  where Vice Principal, Meenakshi Shah proposed the vote of thanks and congratulated all participants and emphasized that the ultimate triumph lay in raising awareness for climate action.
