Lucknow।The CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CSIR-CDRI), in collaboration with the Trust for Education and Training in Cytometry (TETC), successfully organized a symposium aimed at illuminating diverse career pathways in Biological & Biomedical Sciences. Held at the CDRI auditorium, the event drew students, technologists, and postdoctoral scholars from various parts of India, offering them invaluable insights into the realms of R&D in Corporate, industry, Government Organizations academia, communications, business, and beyond.

On the onset of symposium, Dr. Rekha Gour, Co-Founder of TETC, India and Organizing Chairperson, underscored the organization's vision to facilitate knowledge exchange among experts in the field, empowering participants to grasp both fundamental and advanced concepts in Career Development. Dr. Gour emphasized the transformative role of education and training in nurturing talent and driving innovative research in Biological and Clinical domains. Dr Mrigank Srivastava and Dr Hemant Agarwal, Organizing Secretaries set the stage through their address for participants about the rationale of this very important event for their research career. Dr Naibedya Chattopadhyay Chief Guest, appreciated the efforts made by TETC for popularizing the applications Flow Cytometry in R & D and declared the symposium open and asked the participants to participate in it with open mind and open heart as upgrading the skills are prerequisite for scientific development.

The First Session of the symposium was focused on career opportunities in private sector. Dr. Michael D’Silva, Lead Investigator at Syngene International, Bangalore, and Dr. Arvinder Singh, Director of Human Diagnostics, Gurgaon, shed light on the myriad opportunities available in corporate research and provided valuable perspectives on scientific careers in Indian corporates. Mr. Ayush Mishra, CINO of Anervea, Pune, offered invaluable insights into Company Start-up & Entrepreneurship, inspiring attendees to explore the realms of ideation, innovation, and sustainable growth.

Next Session was centred on R & D career opportunities in government sector. Dr. Naibedya Chattopadhyay, Chief Scientist at CSIR-CDRI talked about Success Strategies for Postdoctoral Research whereas Dr. Saman Habib, Chief Scientist at CSIR-CDRI talked about Scientific Positions in Government Organizations. Dr. SK Varshney outlined in detail about Funding/Grants Opportunities available with Government Organizations. And Dr. Hemant Agrawal, Director, Flow Cytometry Solutions, Jaipur informed how students can make their Careers in Flow Cytometry.
