On the occasion of National Science Day-2024, the Council of Science and Technology, UP, organized various scientific activities including Science Quiz, Poster Painting, and Speech Competitions, along with scientific lectures. The program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri Narendra Bhooshan, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, and Director General, Council of Science and Technology, UP, with the lighting of the lamp. On this occasion, Dr. Rajesh Gangwar, Convenor of the program, welcomed all the guests & students and provided detailed information about National Science Day and Raman Effect. Approximately 250 students, teachers, and scientists from various schools/colleges/institutions of Lucknow district participated in the program. Students participated enthusiastically in the Science Quiz, Poster Painting, and Speech Competitions. They presented interesting posters on topics such as indigenous technology for India, environmental conservation, artificial intelligence, Chandrayaan, Aditya L-1, Gaganyaan, etc., and also delivered speeches. 

On the occasion of National Science Day 2024, renowned academician and doctor, Prof. Narsingh Verma, delivered an exceptional keynote lecture addressing the intersection of youth and health. The lecture, captivated audiences with its insightful exploration of proactive measures for fostering a healthier future. Drawing upon years of expertise in the field of health sciences, Prof. Verma emphasized the pivotal role of lifestyle choices in shaping individual well-being. With a special focus on the youth demographic, he underscored the importance of adopting sustainable habits to promote longevity and vitality. Prof. Verma's lecture shed light on the contemporary challenges faced by young individuals in maintaining optimal health amidst the fast-paced modern lifestyle. From dietary habits to physical activity, he elucidated practical strategies for implementing positive changes conducive to a healthier existence.

Attendees were enthralled by Prof. Verma's comprehensive analysis on implementing chronobiology on diagnosis and treatment of human diaeases. His engaging delivery and profound knowledge left a lasting impression, inspiring a collective commitment to prioritizing health and wellness among the younger generation.In the scientific lecture session, Professor Narsingh Verma from the Physiology Department of King George Medical University, Lucknow, addressed the participants on Youth and Health (Chronobiology), emphasizing on modern lifestyle, food habits, daily routines, and the diseases caused by sedentary activities and various lifestyle-based solutions to prevent them. Professor Verma advocated for adopting sustainable habits to increase life expectancy and vitality.

In the second phase of the lecture series, renowned scientist Dr. P.K. Srivastava presented various examples of modern technologies developed based on the lifestyle of medicinal plants such as Peepal, Banyan, Neem, Amla, Ashoka, as well as various animals like Hummingbird, Bee, Kingfisher, and Gecko, through scientific cartoons.The chief guest of the program, Shri Narendra Bhooshan, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, and Director General, Council of Science and Technology, UP, in his address, encouraged students towards science and highlighted the significant role of science and technology in the holistic development of the country and the state. He also shed light on vast possibilities in upcoming technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, block chain, quantum computing, and space science, stating that India has played a leading role on the global stage in technology and space over the past 10 years.

In the Science Quiz, Vaishnavi Tiwari of TD Girls Inter College secured first place, Mahi Vishwakarma secured second place, and Abu Asif of Unity Law College secured third place. In the Poster Making Competition, Shikha Kumari of TD Girls Inter College secured first place, Anas of SSJD Inter College secured second place, and Shivam Kashyap of GIC Nishatganj secured third place. Similarly, in the Speech Competition, Preeti Yadav of TD Girls Inter College secured first place, Rahil of KM Chisti International University, Lucknow, secured second place, and Vaishnavi of Avadh Academy Inter College secured third place. On this occasion, Dr. D.K. Srivastava, Director of the Council, Dr. Rajesh Gangwar, Joint Director, Sumit Kumar Srivastava, Scientific Officer, Dr. S. Rahman, Scientific Officer, and all the staff and district science club coordinators of Lucknow were present. The stage was conducted by Shri Sandeep Yadav. Finally, Dr. D.K. Srivastava, Director of the Council, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Council.
