Lucknow Unveils 24-Foot Hanuman Idol Crafted from Over 50,000 Stones
600-Kg Idol Unveiled at Fun Republic Mall; Management Claims It Is Asia’s Largest Hanuman Idol Installed at an Institution or Premises
Lucknow, October 27, 2026: A magnificent symbol of faith and devotion was unveiled at Fun Republic Mall in Lucknow on Tuesday, with the inauguration of a 24-foot-tall Hanuman idol weighing approximately 600 kg. Crafted from more than 50,000 stones, each bearing the sacred inscription ‘Ram-Ram’, the idol combines spiritual significance with remarkable craftsmanship.
The grand idol was unveiled by MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora. The installation is expected to become a major attraction for devotees, residents and visitors to the city.
Over 50,000 Stones Inscribed with ‘Ram-Ram’
One of the most distinctive features of the idol is the sacred inscription ‘Ram-Ram’ on more than 50,000 stones used in its construction. Lord Hanuman is revered as one of the greatest devotees of Lord Shri Ram, and the concept reflects the deep spiritual bond between the two.
The idol is not merely an impressive structure but also an artistic representation of Ram Naam and Hanuman Bhakti, bringing together devotion, traditional craftsmanship and spiritual symbolism.
Idol Crafted in Just 30 Days
The magnificent structure was completed in approximately 30 days, with special stones sourced from different states across India. The process of shaping, cutting and intricately carving the stones took nearly 10 days.
Around 20 to 25 skilled artisans from different states worked on the project, combining traditional stone-carving techniques with modern technical support to bring the imposing idol to life.
Management Claims Asia’s Largest Hanuman Idol of Its Kind
According to Fun Republic Mall management, the 24-foot-tall idol is claimed to be the largest Hanuman idol in Asia installed at an institution or within a premises. The management also stated that the installation has been recognised by the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records.
These distinctions were cited by the management in highlighting the scale and uniqueness of the project.
A Landmark of Spiritual and Cultural Significance
The management described the installation as a matter of pride, honour and spiritual significance for Fun Republic Mall. It said the initiative goes beyond enhancing the mall’s visual appeal and aims to bring Indian culture, Sanatan traditions and the country’s rich spiritual heritage closer to the public.
The management added that visitors should have opportunities to connect with India’s cultural and spiritual traditions alongside shopping and entertainment. The idol represents faith, strength, devotion and dedication—qualities closely associated with Lord Hanuman.
