Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah dedicates to the Nation the Rail Coach Naveenikaran Karkhana (Sonipat) & Elevated Railway Track built in Rohtak through video link
Lays the Foundation Stone of Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor Project at Faridabad
The Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah dedicated the Rail Coach Naveenikaran Karkhana (Sonipat) & Elevated Railway Track built in Rohtak to the Nation through video link and laid the foundation stone of Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor Project in a ceremony held at Faridabad(Haryana) today. Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana, Shri Manohar Lal, Hon’ble Union Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Shri Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager Northern Railway, Shri Dimpy Garg, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi Division and other senior railway officials from headquarters and Delhi Division were also present on the occasion at Faridabad.
As part of the dedication ceremony taking place at Faridabad, Shri Ramesh Chander Kaushik, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Hon’ble MLA, Haryana, Smt. Nirmal Choudhary, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer / NR Shri R. K. Sanger and other senior railway officials were present at Rail Coach Naveenikaran Karkhana at Badi, Sonipat. Later Sh. Kaushik flagged off of a newly furbished LHB Shatabdi Coach from the newly inaugurated Karkhana.

Speaking on the occasion at Faridabad, Shri Amit Shah said that Atmanirbhar Bharat is the vision of New India. The aim is to make the country and its citizens independent and self-reliant in all senses. Under the Atmanirbhar Bharat project, Vande Bharat trains are planned to be manufactured in the Rail Coach Naveenikaran Karkhana, Sonipat.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw said that Rs. 30,506 crore worth of rail projects have been sanctioned in Haryana. Seven important Railway stations; Faridabad, Gurugram, Chandigarh, Ambala, Karnal, Kurukshetra and Panipat will be completely redeveloped giving them a world class status. Rs 262 crore has been sanctioned for Faridabad and Rs 212 crore for Gurugram for their makeover.
Rail Coach Naveenikaran Karkhana, Badi, Dist. Sonipat
Rail Coach Naveenikaran Karkhana situated in Baddi Industrial Area, Dist. Sonipat, Haryana Statehas been dedicated to the Nation today. This factory is situated 55 KM from New Delhi on Delhi – Panipat – Ambala Railway Line. Foundation stone of this factory was laid by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi on 09.10.2018. Setting up of the factory has been completed in a record time of 03 years, with a sanctioned cost of Rs. 535 crores. Extended in 161 acres, this factory is equipped with over 90 modern machines, especially State-of-Art Bogie Assembly and Dis-assembly.
There is a plan for manufacturing of 100 Vande Bharat Trains Version-3 having a speed of 200 KMPH in this factory. Besides this, MLR of 250 LHB coaches will be done annually in this factory.
Elevated Railway Track Rohtak
The 4.85-km long elevated railway track in Haryana’s Rohtak is built at the cost of Rs 315.46 crores and constructed adjoining to existing alignment leaving a 12m wide strip for the construction of the road underneath. This elevated track will help in easing the traffic situation in the city as it replaced four level crossings in the city. The elevated track has eliminated the level crossings and it’s a big relief to the people of Rohtak.
The nod for the project on the Rohtak-Gohana line was given in 2018 by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal. With the dedication of this line, Railways will be able to smoothly operate trains on this important route. The speed of trains in this section will also be increased. Elevated railway tracks are safer as there is no trespassing on the same.
Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor Project
Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor Project is a new electrified double broad gauge(BG) rail line of around 121.742 route km from Palwal to Sonipat via Sohana, Manesar and Kharkhouda in the State of Haryana, bypassing Delhi and will serve both passenger and freight traffic. Once completed, the project will provide connections with the existing Indian Railway(IR) lines at Palwal, Patli, Sultanpur, Asaudha and Harsana Kalan stations. The BG railway line will have a design speed of 160 Kmph and the capacity to carry 60 million tonnes of freight and 40 million passengers each way annually.
