Lucknow: A remarkable event aimed at demystifying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its potential in the pharmaceutical and healthcare fields was successfully conducted by CSIR Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) in collaboration with Amity Institute of Pharmacy (AIP) Lucknow. The informative session took place at the Amity University Seminar Hall in Lucknow, witnessed by a diverse audience of students and enthusiasts.


The event commenced with a warm welcome extended by Prof. Anuradha Mishra, Director AIP, Amity University, Lucknow setting the stage for an engaging session that shed light on the transformative potential of AI in drug development and its broader applications.
Dr. Sanjeev Yadav, Senior Scientist from CSIR-CDRI, commenced his lecture by providing an insightful overview of the diverse areas in which CSIR-CDRI is actively engaged.

Unlocking artificial intelligence

He highlighted the intricate challenges encountered during the drug development process, emphasizing that it typically takes around a decade to bring a new drug to culmination. He emphasized how AI and technological advancements can significantly slash this timeline, revolutionizing drug development by making it faster and more efficient. He also shed light on numerous exciting career prospects that lie ahead for aspiring pharmacy students.


Mr. Shubham R. Londhe, Senior Software engineer and an expert of Artificial Intelligence, captivated the audience with an informative discourse on AI. He artfully demystified AI, addressing common concerns and dispelling fears about potential job losses.  Mr. Shubham demonstrated some hands-on tools to show how AI can be a valuable tool in crafting theses under tight time constraints, enabling multidirectional problem-solving, and even aiding in creative tasks like image design.

He unveiled a slew of free and secure AI tools that empower individuals to accomplish tasks with newfound ease. He further highlighted an array of free and secure AI tools that are readily accessible, thus enabling students to embark on their AI journeys with confidence. Throughout the event, the speakers underscored that Artificial Intelligence is not about replacing humans, but about amplifying their capabilities and possibilities. It was emphasized that AI is a significant leap forward for humanity, enhancing various aspects of our lives.


The program concluded with an optimistic outlook on the future of AI, with speaker's highlighting its role as a transformative force that amplifies human capabilities and propels society toward unprecedented heights of innovation.

Dr. Zeeshan Fatima, Professor AIP, Lucknow, in her concluding remark appreciated the efforts of CSIR-CDRI for spreading the awareness on AI and look forward for the joint initiative by CSIR-CDRI and the Amity Institute of Pharmacy to serves as a beacon of knowledge, paving the way for aspiring pharmacy students to harness the power of AI and contribute to the advancement of drug discovery and healthcare.
