12th National Handloom Day Celebrated at Integral University, Lucknow
The programme was organised under the patronage of the Hon’ble Founder and Chancellor, Prof. Syed Wasim Akhtar, and the Hon’ble Additional Pro-Chancellor, Syed Adnan Akhtar.

As part of the celebrations, an awareness session was organised for students of Fashion Design to familiarise them with the contemporary relevance of Khadi, the challenges facing the sector, and the emerging opportunities in the Khadi industry.
The session was addressed by delegates from K&VIB–Grant Thornton Bharat LLP, including Mr. Jitendra Kumar, Associate Director; Mr. Sanket Kumar, Assistant Manager; and Mr. Abhishek Tiwari, Assistant Manager.

The speakers discussed the changing landscape of Khadi production and marketing, highlighting evolving consumer preferences, changing market dynamics, and the expectations of Generation Z. They emphasised the importance of innovation, effective branding, contemporary design, and modern marketing strategies to make Khadi more appealing to younger consumers and expand its market reach.
The interactive session provided students with valuable insights into how traditional handloom and Khadi products can be aligned with contemporary fashion trends while retaining their cultural identity and heritage.
The event was organised under the guidance of Prof. Zeba Nisar and supported by Prof. Dr. Safiullah Khan. The programme was efficiently coordinated by faculty members Ms. Anusha Sharma, Mr. Zishan Ahmed, Ms. Mansi Singh, and Dr. Unnati Shukla.
The celebration highlighted the importance of preserving India’s rich handloom heritage while encouraging innovation and new-age approaches to ensure that Khadi continues to remain relevant and attractive to the younger generation.
