AGI Greenpac Begins Construction of ₹1,000 Crore Aluminium Can Plant in Uttar Pradesh

The plant is expected to begin operations in the first half of 2027 with two cutting-edge production lines capable of manufacturing a combined 1.6 billion cans annually. Initial production is projected at 1.3 billion cans per year.

Each line has been designed with future expansion in mind and can be upgraded to produce up to 1 billion cans per line through debottlenecking and advanced necking technology, taking the facility’s total potential capacity beyond 2 billion cans annually.

The facility will manufacture a wide range of aluminium beverage cans, including standard, sleek, and slim formats, catering to diverse beverage categories such as carbonated soft drinks, beer, energy drinks, and ready-to-drink beverages. Its multi-format capability and scalable infrastructure will enable the company to expand both production capacity and product offerings in line with evolving market demand.

The Hathras facility is being developed to achieve a Platinum Green Building rating, the highest recognition under India’s green building framework. Aluminium, being infinitely recyclable without loss of quality, is considered one of the most sustainable packaging materials available today. This aligns with the growing focus of beverage brands on reducing environmental impact and advancing circular economy initiatives.

Strategically located in Uttar Pradesh, the facility will offer logistical advantages for serving major consumption markets across North and Central India. The location is expected to enable faster deliveries, lower logistics costs, and improved service efficiency for beverage companies operating in a just-in-time supply environment.
