Annual General Body Meeting of the Lucknow University Physics Alumni Association
During the event, the election for the new President, Vice President, and committee members of the Lucknow University Physics Alumni Association took place. The president, Mr. Chaman Mehrotra, was elected to be continuing, and three new vice presidents were elected: Dr. B. B. Shah, Prof. Sanjay Mishra, and Dr. Pawan Mishra. Dr. Punit Kumar is reelected to be the secretary, and the three new joint secretaries were elected, namely Dr. Chandranshu, Dr. Samta Singh, and Dr. Sharad Vaish.
In his address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai appreciated the contributions of the alumni, stating, "The University of Lucknow takes immense pride in the achievements of its alumni, who continue to bring honour to the institution. Our alumni form the bridge that connects our glorious past with a bright future." Via ce, the Chancellor said that there were various ways in which an alumni could contribute to the association and the department. There was a need to connect to alumni who have passed out during the last 5-10-15-20 years. He also said that the alumni of the university can be strong only if the department alumni are strong.
Prof. Chaman Mehrotra also remarked, "The Alumni Association has always played a vital role in strengthening the bond between former students and the university, and this meeting serves as a testament to the enduring connection we all share."
In his welcoming address, Prof. N. K. Pandey, Head of the Department, warmly greeted the alumni and emphasised the importance of their continued involvement in the university’s journey. "Our alumni are our true ambassadors, and it is their achievements that continue to elevate the stature of this institution. Your support and contributions are what drive us forward," Prof. Pandey said, encouraging active participation from all present.
Special recognition was given to Dr. Jyotsana Singh and Dr. Leena Sinha, whose immense efforts in organising and designing the event made it both beautiful and elegant, adding a touch of sophistication to the proceedings.
Many alumni participated in the event, reminiscing about their days at the university and sharing their experiences. Their presence underscored the importance of alumni engagement and support in fostering academic and institutional growth.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Punit Kumar, who expressed gratitude to all attendees for making the event a success.
