Ayodhya Ram Mandir Donation Case: State Bank of India Pledges Full Cooperation to SIT Probe
LUCKNOW: The State Bank of India (SBI) has officially announced its complete cooperation with the ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the alleged financial irregularities regarding donations at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
India's largest public sector lender has been the primary banking partner for the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, managing its financial operations and accounts since the historic Pran Pratishtha (consecration ceremony) of Lord Shri Ram.
Transparency in Financial Investigation
Following recent allegations of mismanagement and discrepancies in the handling of cash offerings collected from the temple’s donation boxes (Dan Patras), the Government of Uttar Pradesh set up an SIT to conduct a thorough and transparent inquiry.
In an official statement released by its Local Head Office in Lucknow, SBI addressed its role in the current investigation:
-
Active Assistance: The bank stated that it has already provided all necessary financial logs, documentation, and technical support requested by the investigators.
-
Continued Commitment: SBI reiterated that it stands firmly behind the legal process and remains fully committed to extending absolute transparency and assistance as the inquiry progresses.
