BASIC COURSE IN MEDICAL EDUCATION

Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).A three day workshop on Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME) for faculty members of different disciplines was initiated today on 18th February 2025 organised by Department of Medical Education, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow under the aegis of NMC Nodal Center for Medical Education Technology. The program was inaugurated by Professor (Dr.) C.M. Singh, Director, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow.

He highlighted the importance of the National Medical Commission’s new Competency Based Medical Curriculum which emphasises on the interactive teaching, learning and assessment skills to the participating faculty members.

Professor Pradyuman Singh, Dean of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow was also present in the inaugural ceremony. He appreciated the efforts of Department of Medical Education in conducting such workshops on regular basis for capacity building of the teaching faculty. 
A total of 30 faculty members from various departments of MBBS are participating in this workshop. Prof. (Dr.) Amita Pandey from KGMU, Lucknow was the NMC Coordinator for the workshop. She appreciated the sessions and stressed on importance of BCME and how to take forward the learnings of the workshop. 
Professor Dr. Jyotsna Agarwal, (Coordinator -Department of Medical Education), Dr. Manish Kumar Singh (Co- Coordinator,Dept. of Medical Education), Prof. (Dr.) Ritu Karoli, Prof. (Dr.) Namrata Awasthi, Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh, Dr. Priyanka Rai, Dr. Shitanshu Srivastava, Dr. Richa Chaudhary, Dr. Rudramani and Dr Vibha Gangwar contributed as resource faculty and covered the topics of CBME, the various Teaching Learning and Assessment methods, Mentoring, networking and other topics in medical education.
