BBAU Gears Up to Set Guinness World Record Under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Initiative; 2,100 Saplings to Be Planted in a Single Day
 
This unique initiative is being organized as part of a state-level mission spearheaded by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, aiming to raise awareness about environmental preservation in tribute to motherhood.  🌱 “Environmental protection is deeply rooted in Indian tradition” – Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal The mock drill witnessed the esteemed presence of Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, Vice-Chancellor of BBAU, along with Shri Awanish Awasthi, retired IAS officer and Advisor to Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.  Prof. Mittal lauded the campaign’s vision and congratulated the Government of Uttar Pradesh for taking such a meaningful step. He stated:  “This initiative is a proud moment for BBAU and for Uttar Pradesh. If we succeed, we will not just be entering the Guinness World Records but also reaffirming our commitment to the environment. Our culture has always emphasized harmony with nature. Securing the environment means securing our future.”  He urged the community to participate enthusiastically in the event and emphasized the university’s continuous efforts to maintain a green and sustainable campus.  🌳 A Tribute Through Trees The ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign not only encourages mass tree plantation but also serves as a heartfelt homage to one’s mother by planting a tree in her honor. During the official attempt on July 9, each participant will plant a sapling at their pre-assigned location as part of the synchronized event.  The campaign is being seen as more than just a world record effort; it symbolizes collective environmental responsibility and social consciousness. With high levels of excitement among students, faculty, forest officials, and administrative staff, the initiative has garnered wide attention and support.  🏫 Massive Student Participation and Administrative Backing Students from 10 to 12 schools across Lucknow actively engaged in the mock plantation exercise. The event also saw the involvement of BBAU faculty members, non-teaching staff, Forest Department officials, and various government representatives. The drill was conducted in a disciplined and well-coordinated manner, ensuring full preparedness for the big day.  🧑‍🏫 Dignitaries Present at the Mock Drill Several notable personalities and administrative heads graced the mock drill, including:  Dr. Ashwini Kumar Singh – Registrar, BBAU  Prof. M.P. A grand mock drill was held on July 8 to ensure the smooth execution of this massive plantation drive, where 2,100 participants will simultaneously plant 2,100 saplings at one location.
