Lucknow Desk (R L Pandey) – In a significant move to foster joyful and inclusive education, the Study Hall Educational Foundation (SHEF), in collaboration with the HCL Foundation and the Basic Education Department, has launched a large-scale learning and resource distribution initiative across eight Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) in Lucknow.
The campaign officially began at KGBV Sarojini Nagar, where Mr. Ram Pravesh, Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) of Lucknow, inaugurated the event. His presence and leadership highlighted the government’s strong commitment to enhancing education for girls. Also in attendance were Warden Vandana Awasthi, representatives from the HCL Foundation, and members of the SHEF team.
As part of this initiative, approximately 800 girls received sports shoes and a variety of recreational games such as volleyball, badminton, chess, UNO, and Monopoly. This marks the beginning of “Sports Month” in KGBVs, aiming to encourage regular physical activity, boost self-esteem, and create vibrant school environments.
In addition to promoting play, the initiative also focuses on strengthening academics. Specially designed Hindi and Mathematics workbooks were distributed to help bridge foundational learning gaps for newly enrolled students. These resources are tailored to support self-paced learning, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to thrive.
This collaborative effort reflects the shared vision of SHEF, HCL Foundation, and the Basic Education Department to make KGBVs dynamic, nurturing, and empowering spaces where adolescent girls can learn, grow, and succeed.
