Lucknow, March 13, 2026: The five-day annual flagship fest “CONCORDIA 2026 – Spirit of Togetherness”organized by Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition Lucknow concluded on a grand and enthusiastic note. The event, held from March 9 to March 13, brought together students, faculty members and staff in a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, creativity and cultural expression.

Initiated in 2015, Concordia symbolizes harmony, unity and cooperation among students and is one of the most awaited events in the institute’s academic calendar. The festival aims to nurture teamwork, leadership, adaptability and creativity by providing students with a platform to showcase their talents in sports, cultural and co-curricular activities.

Addressing the gathering during the closing ceremony, Neelendra Prasad Srivastava emphasized the importance of extracurricular, sports and cultural activities in the holistic development of students. He noted that such events go beyond competition and help build confidence, discipline, teamwork and leadership qualities that are essential for future hospitality professionals.

R. K. Singh also addressed the audience and highlighted the value of experiential learning that students gain while organizing and managing large-scale events. He said that Concordia helps students understand coordination, planning and teamwork—skills that are invaluable in the hospitality industry.

Sharing details about the sports segment, Avinash Singh informed that 22 sporting events across multiple categories were successfully conducted, with nearly 88 matches organized over four days. He added that the playground provides a unique opportunity to witness the enthusiasm, competitive spirit and discipline of students.

Members of the organizing committee and cultural coordinators including Mukesh Sachan, Deepti Yadav, Deepabalee Saha, Amarjeet Kundu and Mohd Shavez Ahmad shared that organizing an event of this scale required extensive planning, coordination and practice under the guidance of faculty members. They appreciated the dedication and active participation of students who worked tirelessly to make the event successful.

Throughout the festival, students enthusiastically participated in a wide range of activities including sports competitions such as basketball, football, cricket, volleyball, badminton, relay races, tug of war, chess and table tennis. The fest also featured co-curricular and cultural events including rangoli, canvas painting, photography and reel making, storytelling, mushaira, band performances, fashion walk, stand-up comedy, skits and theme-based dance performances.

Competitions were held among the institute’s four houses—Agniastra, Brahmastra, Indrastra and Rudrastra—creating a vibrant and spirited atmosphere across the campus. The house that accumulated the highest points across all events was declared the overall champion of Concordia 2026 through a transparent and fair scoring system.

The successful conclusion of Concordia 2026 reflected the institute’s commitment to holistic education by encouraging students to balance academics with sports, creativity and cultural engagement. The event reinforced the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The World is One Family,” leaving participants and organizers with a sense of pride, camaraderie and inspiration.
