DRI Seizes 3.110 kg Heroin at Lucknow’s Charbagh Railway Station; Two Women Arrested
The action followed specific intelligence inputs suggesting that two women travelling from New Jalpaiguri to Delhi were carrying a consignment of narcotic drugs. Acting swiftly, DRI teams maintained surveillance at the station and identified the suspected passengers as soon as their train arrived.
During the interception, officials examined their luggage and discovered several packets hidden within their belongings. The packets contained a whitish powder, which tested positive for heroin using the NDPS field testing kit.

The seized heroin, weighing 3.110 kilograms, is valued at approximately ₹21.77 crore in the illegal drug market. Heroin is a highly addictive and dangerous narcotic substance, and its possession, distribution or trafficking attracts severe penalties under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Both women have been taken into custody, and the contraband has been seized in accordance with NDPS Act provisions.
