Goel Institute Organizes Internal Smart India Hackathon 2026
Lucknow, September 2, 2026: Goel Institute of Technology & Management, Lucknow, successfully organized the Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 on September 2, providing students with a platform to showcase their innovation, creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Rishi Asthana, Director, Goel Institute of Technology & Management, in the presence of Dr. Devendra Agarwal, Dean, faculty members, industry experts, and students.
More than 70 student teams enthusiastically participated in both the Software and Hardware categories. The participants presented innovative technological solutions aimed at addressing contemporary and real-world challenges.
The projects were evaluated on key parameters including innovation, technical feasibility, social impact, and quality of presentation. Following the evaluation process, 50 teams were shortlisted for the next round.
Industry Experts on the Judging Panel
The judging panel comprised experienced professionals from various industry domains. The panel included Mr. D. D. Mishra, Retired Chief Electrical Engineer; Mr. Ashish Verma, Accenture; Ms. Khushi Kumari, CSG Technosole; Mr. Gaurav Pandey, Kirloskar Brothers Ltd.; Mr. Deepak Verma, GeneBio Healthcare; and Mr. Tushar Srivastava, Consultant, UPNEDA.
The experts assessed the projects on their technological innovation, practicality, potential impact, and presentation, while also interacting with participating teams and evaluating their problem-solving approaches.

The Internal Smart India Hackathon 2026 provided students with an opportunity to transform their ideas into practical technology-based solutions. The event encouraged innovation, entrepreneurship, teamwork, technical competence, creativity, and problem-solving skills among the participants.
