The 28th Annual International Conference of the Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) commenced today at the Central Auditorium of Integral University, marking the beginning of an insightful and knowledge-driven Day 1.

Chief Guest Addresses the Gathering

The conference was officially inaugurated by Mr. Amit Kumar Ghosh, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Medical Health, Family Welfare & Medical Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
In his keynote address, he highlighted:
the rising importance of the One Health concept,
the need for integrated public health strategies, and
the role of data-driven decision-making in building resilient health systems.
He emphasized that public health preparedness and effective coordination are essential, especially as global outbreaks such as COVID-19 have shown that health threats transcend borders. He noted that Uttar Pradesh, with nearly 80 medical colleges, holds immense potential for advancing public health initiatives, but collective and sustained efforts remain crucial.
He urged universities and professional organizations like IAPSM to transform the vision of One Health into meaningful research, training, and field-level outcomes.
