Uttar Pradesh desk Lucknow (R L Pandey).the Department of Psychology, University of Lucknow, under the leadership of Dr. Archana Shukla, Head, Department of Psychology, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) in the presence of Prof.

Manuka Khanna, Pro Vice Chancellor, University of Lucknow and Prof. Geetanjali Mishra, Dean Academics, University of Lucknow, to collaborate on various initiatives in research, training, and innovative practices. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is a major Indian public sector undertaking in the petroleum and natural gas industry, with a focus on refining, marketing, and distribution of petroleum products across the country. The Department of Psychology will share its expertise with HPCL through workshops, seminars, and joint research initiatives. This collaboration aims to improve workplace efficiency and employee well-being by fostering progressive practices and a deeper understanding of work psychology and behaviour. Dr. Archana Shukla, Head, Department of Psychology, University of Lucknow, and Mr. Madhukar Kaitha, Head, HR HPCL's NCZ Division, will act as the coordinators for this program.


According to Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Manuka Khanna, “The MoU will be instrumental for students who will get insight into the working of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. The psychological guidance provided by our faculty and alumni will in turn assist in transforming the atmosphere of work place as well. Together they will be initiating research and encouraging sharing of knowledge.” Prof. Geetanjali Mishra, Dean Academics also shared her views on this MoU. She said, “The job of a university other than creating knowledge is to share it extensively with the society. Through this MoU, the dept of psychology is doing exactly that, using their expertise for the betterment of society. Also, such collaborations are good training grounds for our students and make them more efficient and experienced in the real world. I hope we continue to see more such collaborations.”


Towards the end of the signing ceremony, Dr. Archana Shukla, outlining her vision for the MoU, said, “I took this initiative to strengthen the Department of Psychology’s academic programs, particularly in Organizational Behaviour and Work Psychology, benefiting both Master’s and Doctoral students, creating a unique bridge between academic theory and real-world application”.Dr. Shukla added, “This MoU is a significant step for both the organizations, strengthening their joint efforts and potentially leading to advancements in the fields of Organizational Behaviour and Work Psychology”.
