Integral University Celebrates 12th International Yoga Day with a Harmonious Blend of Wellness and a Green Initiative
Educational Bureau, Lucknow (21 June 2026):
The serene and picturesque Convocation Lawn of Integral University, Lucknow, came alive with spiritual energy and enthusiasm today as the institution celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga. Jointly organized by the Office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare (DSW) and the Integral University Sports Academy (IUSA), the grand morning event beautifully brought to life this year’s global theme: “Yoga for Wellness, Wisdom and World Peace.”
A Universal Celebration with International Footprints
The collective session saw a massive turnout, including faculty members, administrative staff, domestic students, and notably, a large contingent of international students. Embracing yoga as a universal way of life, the participation of students from various countries sent a powerful message of global unity, proving that the ancient practice transcends cultural and national boundaries to unite humanity.
The session was held under the expert guidance of renowned Yoga Instructor Mrs. Kamlesh Singh. Under her supervision, participants practiced an array of life-energizing yogic postures, including Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose), alongside deep breathing exercises like Anulom-Vilom to promote physical agility and mental stability.
Holistic Growth Beyond Academics
The event was graced by the inspiring presence of Prof. Monowar Alam Khalid, Dean, Students’ Welfare. Senior faculty members, including Dr. Divya Pujwani and Dr. Eram Fatima, actively participated from the front rows, setting a stellar example for the student community.
University representatives highlighted that Integral University’s consistent, annual observance of Yoga Day reaffirms its deep-rooted commitment to Indian knowledge systems. The event seamlessly aligns with the university's core educational philosophy—where learning extends beyond textbook academics to foster holistic personality development, self-awareness, and inner discipline.

Bridging Health and Nature: "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam"
To expand the social and ecological footprint of the celebration, the university intertwined human health with environmental stewardship by organizing a special tree plantation drive under the national campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (A Tree in Mother’s Name).
Inaugurating the plantation drive, Prof. Monowar Alam Khalid emphasized A healthy life and a healthy environment are deeply complementary to one another. We cannot achieve true human wellness without protecting our ecosystem."
The saplings planted during the drive stand as living symbols of hope, environmental responsibility, and dedication to motherhood, adding a profound layer of social consciousness to the Yoga Day festivities.
