Lucknow, July 24, 2024 – Integral University, in collaboration with the award-winning social startup Pink Shakti, organized a compelling seminar today to mark International Self-Care Day. The event, jointly hosted by the Department of Bioengineering, Women’s Study Centre, and Internal Complaints Committee, underscored the importance of prioritizing women's health and empowerment.

Dr. Alvina Farooqui, HOD of the Department of Bioengineering, delivered the Welcome Address, emphasizing Integral University's commitment to women's holistic development and regular forums addressing women's health issues. The seminar highlighted critical topics including menstrual hygiene, cervical cancer prevention, HPV vaccination, and mental health awareness.

Distinguished guest speakers enriched the seminar with their expertise: Mrs. Manjari Upadhyay, Founder of Jijiwisha Society, discussed menstrual hygiene and dispelled associated myths. Dr. Asma Nigar, a prominent gynecologist IIMSR, elaborated on cervical cancer causes, prevention strategies, and the importance of HPV vaccination. Ms. Neha Anand, Founder of Bodhi Tree and a psychologist, emphasized the significance of mental health in today’s challenging environment.

Ms. Snigdhaa Ritesh, Chief Visionary of Pink Shakti, highlighted the organization's holistic approach to women's empowerment through the Pink Shakti App and community campaigns, offering free mental and menstrual health counseling.

The seminar also featured the free distribution of sanitary napkins by Jijiwisha Society, benefitting over 350 students who actively engaged with health experts during interactive sessions. Faculty members from Integral University and Amity University, including senior figures like Dr. Iffat Zareen Ahmad and Dr. Aisha Kamal, contributed to the seminar’s success.

The event received widespread appreciation for its informative sessions and practical insights into women’s health and empowerment.
