In her keynote, the Chief Guest underlined the revolutionary impact of nanotechnology in precision medicine, particularly its ability to customize treatments for better patient outcomes. She also emphasized the importance of integrating STEM, STEAM, and STEAMC frameworks to encourage innovation and interdisciplinary research. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, while appreciating the efforts of the Department of Biosciences, spoke about nanotechnology’s potential in drug discovery and therapy design, recalling key milestones such as Feynman’s vision, Taniguchi’s introduction of the term in 1974, and the development of the Scanning Tunneling Microscope.
Prof. Furqan Qamar, Chief Advisor to the Chancellor, reflected on the synergy between science, society, and commerce—stating that while science fuels innovation, society gains from its benefits, and commerce drives practical application. Guest of Honour Prof. Hafiz highlighted the importance of industry-oriented research and the promising applications of nanotechnology in biology and drug delivery.
The program began with a welcome address by Prof. Abdul Rahman Khan, Dean, Faculty of Science & CoE, followed by the release of the symposium souvenir. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Snober S. Mir, Head, Department of Biosciences.
Distinguished speakers included Dr. Yogendra Kumar Mishra (University of Southern Denmark, Sønderborg), Dr. Rehan Khan (Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India), and Dr. Ashutosh Kumar (Ahmedabad University).
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the symposium attracted more than 200 participants from across the globe, offering a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration in advancing nanomedicine.
