INVESTOR AWARENESS PROGRAM

Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).Faculty of Management Studies, University of Lucknow in collaboration with Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) and Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) organized an investment Awareness Program on Financial Empowerment through Investment.
The event was hosted by Department of Management, University of Lucknow at the Chanakya Auditorium. The esteemed Chief Guest was Shri. Amarjeet Singh, Former Executive Director SEBI & Whole Time Member, SEBI.
The guest speaker of the event was Shri. Surya Kant Sharma, Senior Consultant, AMFI and the Guest of Honour was Shri Venkat Nageswar Chalasani, Chief Executive, AMFI.
The program was inaugurated by Prof. Sangeeta Sahu, Head & Dean, FMS under the patronship of Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, Vice-Chancellor, University of Lucknow. She highlighted the ongoing course development to make students more agile in the financial market.
Mr. Amarjeet set the tone for the event by highlighting the importance of recent trends in investor market. He emphasised the dynamics of Mutual Funds penetration & advantages of SIP.
Shri. Venkat Nageswar Chalasani, talked aboutbasic information on various investment avenues available in the market viz. Government/RBI bonds, corporate bonds, Government schemes, Post office schemes, PPF, NPS, Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme, securities market etc. real estate, gold and securities market. He talked about the financial inclusion going on in the economy. Shri. Surya Kant Sharma, touched upon the importance of regular saving from the beginning of the career and also for increase of savings atleast by 10% every year.
He also shared that the investors should look at real return and not on national return as inflation and tax liability substantially take away major portion of national return.
After sessions, question answer session was made open for the participants and participants asked lot of question on personal finance which were satisfactorily been answered by the experts.
The event was a great success and was attended by the faculty members and students of MBA. At the end of the program Dr. Priya, Faculty Coordinator committee gave votes of thanks and encouraged students to make the most of this session.
