Jindal Stainless and Amida Cleantech Partner on ‘Sanjeevan’ to Improve Air Quality at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham
This CSR-led project—Jindal Stainless’ largest to date—will deploy AMIDA’s indigenous ACE+ (Attract, Capture, Eliminate) ambient air purification technology at the SKVD Ramp Building, adjacent to the cremation area. The installation comprises 58 stainless-steel air-purifying units with a combined treatment capacity of over 3,00,000 cubic meters per hour. The programme aligns with India’s National Clean Air Programme under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
AMIDA’s ACE+ system, tested and validated by leading government bodies including NITI Aayog, is designed to neutralise a broad spectrum of pollutants. It captures particulate matter ranging from nano-black carbon to larger organic particles (100 nm to 50 microns), mitigates toxic vehicular emissions such as SOx and NOx, and neutralises microbial contaminants (viruses and bacteria)—helping create a cleaner and healthier ambient environment.
The project received approval from the SKVD Authority and is focused on two primary objectives:
-
Capturing a significant portion of emissions originating from the Manikarnika Ghat cremation centre.
-
Reducing particulate concentration along the corridor leading to the temple shrine, thereby improving air quality for pilgrims and protecting the exterior surfaces of both new and heritage structures within the SKVD complex.
Commenting on the initiative, Jindal Stainless said the project reinforces the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship while supporting innovative Indian technology that delivers measurable public-health benefits. AMIDA added that its ACE+ platform reflects its core principle—“The Air You Breathe”—and its mission to combat severe urban air pollution across diverse settings.
Local authorities commended both organisations for their dedication to environmental improvement and community well-being.
