KAN International Education and Edmonds College Launch Initiative to Promote Affordable U.S. Community College Pathways for Indian Students
India | Lucknow, December 17, 2025 KAN International Education, in collaboration with Edmonds College, USA, has launched a major initiative aimed at increasing awareness among Indian students about U.S. community college pathways as a cost-effective and structured route to higher education in the United States.
Led by Khwaja Umam, CEO of KAN International Education, the initiative highlights affordable education opportunities, well-defined academic pathways, and strong student support systems available through the globally recognised 2+2 community college transfer model.
Community colleges in the United States provide accessible, flexible, and economical entry points into higher education. Under the 2+2 model, students complete the first two years of their undergraduate education at a community college and then transfer to a four-year university to complete their degree. This approach significantly reduces overall education costs while maintaining academic quality and offers Indian students a smooth transition into leading U.S. universities.
Edmonds College, a well-established public community college located in Lynnwood, Washington, is headed by President Dr. Amit B. Singh, who brings extensive experience in higher education along with a strong commitment to student success and international collaboration. The institution serves thousands of students through associate degree programmes, professional certifications, and university transfer pathways.
Ms. Sherna George, Country Head – India, plays a pivotal role in supporting students and education counsellors by offering guidance on the U.S. education system and community college options, further strengthening academic ties between India and the United States.
As part of the initiative, Dr. Amit B. Singh held an interactive evening dialogue over dinner with principals of leading schools in Lucknow, focusing on international education pathways and student mobility. The interaction was attended by eminent education counsellors Dr. Amrita Dass and Dr. Dheeraj Mehrotra.
KAN International Education was represented at the event by Arryan Tandon, Saqib Siddiqui, and Areeb Warsi, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to expanding global education opportunities for Indian students.
