KGMU MARATHON flags off in Lucknow aiming a step towards “SWASTH BHARAT KHUSHAAL BHARAT”

Lucknow desk (R L Pandey).Athletic Association of King George’s Medical University hosted a marathon on 1st December under the 103rd Annual Sports Meet “*DRONA*” , fostering the vision of a healthier India through the “SWASTH BHARAT KHUSHAAL BHARAT” initiative .The Annual Sports Week is from 1st December to 7th December .
1st December- Marathon
2nd-3rd December- Track and field events of Paramedical students and faculty
4th December- Track and field events of Nursing students and faculty 5th December- Inauguration by Chief Guest 5th December-7th December-Track and field events of Medical & Dental students and faculty
Dr. Amita Jain , Dean Academics flagged off the marathon and awarded the winners of the marathon .
Over 200 students along with faculty of medicine and dental participated in the Marathon .
The 6km marathon started from S.P. Ground and the runners had to pass through Daliganj crossing, CSIR to reach Parivartan Chowk and return back to S.P. Ground.
Dr. R.A.S. Kushwaha , Dean Student Welfare ; Prof. R.K. Dixit, H.O.D. Pharmacology & Vice President Athletic Association ; Prof. Rashmi Kushwaha, President Athletic Association and other faculty members also graced the event with their presence.
Vikas Kumar Patel of MBBS 2020 , Riddhi Singhal of MBBS 2020 batch , Dr Kamleshwar Singh , Dr R.A.S. Kushwaha , Prof. Rashmi Kushwaha won the marathon in different categories . Dr. Vandana Singh and Dr. Jyoti Jain were 2nd and 3rd respectively in the female faculty category. Dr Ankur Bajaj and Dr. Manish were 2nd and 3rd respectively in the male faculty category
Organising committee members including Gaurav Moond of MBBS 2022 batch , Sports Secretary ; and his team successfully organised the event with the help of Traffic Police & Faculty Members. The event witnessed an incredible display of enthusiasm as participants embarked on the marathon routes.
