"Law, Economy and Social Development: Ambedkar's Vision in the Contemporary Era"

Lucknow desk (R L Pandey). The Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, celebrated the 6th Bhimotsava 2025 on April 14, 2025, to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution. The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp in front of Dr. Ambedkar’s portrait.
In the inaugural session, Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Sonkar, Dean, Faculty of Yoga, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the contemporary relevance of Dr. Ambedkar’s vision.

Following this, Ph.D. scholar Mr. Parantak Yadav introduced the book titled "Law, Economy and Social Development: Ambedkar's Vision in the Contemporary Era", highlighting its key themes and its reflection of Dr. Ambedkar’s socio-economic philosophy in modern times. The book was then formally released by Hon’ble Justice Shamim Ahmed (Allahabad High Court), who was the Chief Guest, along with other dignitaries.
On this occasion, Prof. (Dr.) R.K. Singh (Director, Second Campus), Prof. (Dr.) Mohammed Ahmed, and Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Sonkar also addressed the gathering and shared their insights on Ambedkarite thought and its present-day significance. Winners of various competitions held under the Bhimotsava program were felicitated during the event.

In his keynote address, Hon’ble Justice Shamim Ahmed shed light on the importance of Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals of social justice, equality, and constitutional morality, encouraging students to embrace these values in their personal and professional lives.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) B.D. Singh, Dean and Head of the Faculty of Law, who expressed gratitude to all esteemed guests, participants, and organizing members. The celebration proved to be a meaningful tribute to Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and an inspiring academic occasion for the student community.
