Lucknow, September 16, 2026: Max Healthcare Foundation has announced the fourth edition of its flagship Max Medical Scholarship Programme, expanding its annual intake from 100 to up to 250 new students this year. The expansion aims to provide greater access to medical education for meritorious students from economically weaker sections.

Under the programme, up to 250 students who have qualified for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and secured admission to an MBBS programme at government medical colleges during the academic year 2026-27 will receive financial support. The scholarship will cover eligible students studying in government medical colleges across Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Nagpur, Lucknow, Mohali, Dehradun, Bathinda and Bhubaneswar.

Continued Support for Previous Scholarship Recipients

Alongside the new beneficiaries, the Max Medical Scholarship Programme will continue supporting students selected in previous years. These scholars are currently pursuing their second, third and fourth years of medical education, ensuring continuity of financial assistance throughout their academic journey.

The scholarship programme is part of Max Healthcare Foundation’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at supporting talented students and nurturing the next generation of medical professionals.

Comprehensive Financial Assistance for MBBS Education

Selected students will receive comprehensive financial assistance throughout their five-year MBBS course. The scholarship will cover tuition fees and provide essential academic resources, including a laptop, textbooks, bone set, dissection kit and stethoscope. Students will also receive an allowance towards monthly expenses, along with mentorship opportunities.

Commenting on the expansion, Mrs. Taruna Soi, Chairperson, Max Healthcare Foundation, said that financial constraints can prevent talented students from economically weaker sections from pursuing their aspirations of becoming doctors.

She noted that the programme has supported 245 students over the past three years and that the expansion to up to 250 new scholars this year will enable many more deserving students to pursue medical education without the burden of financial constraints.

Applications Open Until October 4

Registration for the Max Medical Scholarship Programme begins on September 16, 2026, and eligible students can submit their applications until October 4, 2026.

The selection process will include multiple stages, including application screening, shortlisting, interviews and verification of mandatory documents. Up to 250 scholars will be selected based on a comprehensive evaluation process conducted by a jury constituted by the Max Healthcare Foundation.

Students from economically weaker sections who have secured admission to eligible government medical colleges in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Nagpur, Lucknow, Mohali, Dehradun, Bathinda and Bhubaneswar can apply for the scholarship through the Max Healthcare Foundation website.
