Max Super Speciality Hospital, Lucknow Launches Dedicated Child Development Centre for Comprehensive Paediatric Care

The Child Development Centre will cater to children between 1 and 18 years of age and provide specialised care for a wide range of developmental, behavioural and neurological conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), speech and language delay, developmental and motor delays, learning disabilities, sensory processing difficulties, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, intellectual disabilities, social and communication challenges, epilepsy and behavioural difficulties.

The centre will be led by a multidisciplinary team comprising Dr. M.U. Hasan, Director & HOD, Department of Pediatrics & Neonatology; Dr. Ankita Garg, Consultant, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry; and Dr. Devina Singh, Consultant, Paediatric Neurology, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Lucknow.

Focus on Early Identification and Intervention

Experts at the hospital highlighted that speech and language delay is a common concern among children aged 2–4 years and may sometimes be associated with developmental conditions, hearing difficulties or other underlying concerns. Early screening and timely evaluation can help identify such concerns and enable families to seek appropriate support.

Speaking about the launch, Dr. M.U. Hasan, Director & HOD, Department of Pediatrics & Neonatology, said that every child has a unique way of learning and developing, making early intervention particularly important.

According to her, bringing specialist assessment and therapy services together under one roof can help families access timely support and appropriate interventions.

Dr. Devina Singh, Consultant, Paediatric Neurology, said developmental difficulties can affect multiple areas of a child's functioning and therefore often require a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach.

She emphasised that coordinated care involving relevant specialists can help in understanding a child's developmental needs and in formulating individualised care plans.
