Lucknow, October 11, 2026: To raise awareness about breast cancer and honour the courage of women who have overcome the disease, the Department of Endocrine and Breast Surgery at Medanta Lucknow organised ‘Play for Pink’ on Sunday at Palm Golf Club in Ansal. The event brought together breast cancer survivors for friendly matches of pink ball cricket and pink golf, highlighting the importance of timely screening and treatment while celebrating the strength, determination and resilience of survivors.

The participants took part in the sporting activities with enthusiasm and confidence, sending a powerful message that life can be embraced with positivity and renewed purpose after a cancer diagnosis. The event also provided an opportunity for participants and the Medanta team to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and timely medical intervention in breast cancer care.

The programme was attended by Dr. Amit Agarwal, Director, Endocrine and Breast Surgery; Dr. Abhishek Kumar Singh, Director, Medical Oncology; Dr. Mohammed Suhaib, Director, Radiation Oncology; and Dr. Roma Pradhan, Associate Director, Endocrine and Breast Surgery.

Early Detection Can Make a Difference

Emphasising the importance of timely diagnosis, Dr. Amit Agarwal, Director, Endocrine and Breast Surgery, Medanta Lucknow, said, “Early detection plays a crucial role in the treatment of breast cancer. When the disease is diagnosed at an early stage, treatment can lead to better outcomes. Through initiatives like this, we aim to encourage women to remain aware of their health. The stories of women who have overcome breast cancer also inspire others and give them the courage to face their own challenges. Any unusual change should not be ignored, and women should consult a doctor in a timely manner.”

Breast Cancer Awareness Is a Year-Round Priority

The initiative highlighted the need to make breast cancer awareness a continuous effort rather than limiting it to a particular month or campaign. Women should remain attentive to their health and seek advice from a healthcare professional if they notice any unusual changes or have concerns about their well-being.

Through ‘Play for Pink’, Medanta Lucknow reiterated that awareness, timely diagnosis, appropriate treatment and emotional resilience are important elements in the fight against breast cancer. The participation of survivors in the sporting activities served as an inspiring reminder that, after overcoming the challenges of cancer, women can move forward with confidence, hope and renewed enthusiasm.
