National Education Policy- 2020 Orientation and Awareness Program was inaugurated at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University

This program is being organized on 18th- 27th March under the guidance of Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, Vice Chancellor of BBAU and Prof. Rajive Mohan Pant, Vice Chancellor of Assam University, in which educationists, researchers and teachers of universities and educational institutions of various states of India will participate. The main objective of this program is to spread awareness in teachers, researchers and educational institutions about National Education Policy 2020 and provide necessary guidelines for its effective implementation. Also, educational institutions have to provide a new direction and approach so that the National Education Policy 2020 can be implemented properly and the level of education in every corner of the country can be improved. The program will be held in a total of sixteen sessions in which the prestigious educationist of various fields will discuss various aspects of the National Education Policy 2020.
During the first session of the program, Prof. Harikesh Singh, former Vice Chancellor of Jayaprakash University, Chhapra, Prof. K. Srinivas of National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, New Delhi, Prof. Ajay Kumar, Deputy Director, UGC-MMTC, Assam University, Prof. Rajsharan Shahi, Head and Dean of the Department of Education, BBAU, Prof. M. Balakrishnan, Coordinator and Director, MMTC, Assam University and Dr. Subhash Mishra, Program Convenor were present mainly during the program. At the beginning, Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh welcomed all the people present in the program. After this, Prof. Rajsharan Shahi informed everyone about the purpose and outline of the program. The anchoring was done by Dr. Shikha Tiwari.
During the first session, Prof. Harikesh Singh shared his views on the topic 'Higher Education and Society'. He discussed the importance of the National Education Policy 2020 and its educational reforms. After this, Prof. K. Srinivas gave information about digital changes through ICT in higher education. Also Prof. M. Balakrishnan highlighted the role and program of UGC-MMTC.
In the end, Dr. Subhash Mishra , Program Convenor proposed a vote of thanks. Prof. Harishankar Singh, Dr. B.S. Gupta, Dr. Victoria Sussain, Dr. Sangeeta, Dr. Rajesh Ekka, Dr. Lalima, Dr. Vivek Nath Tripathi and Dr. Meena V. Rakshas, Mr. Maksood Ahmed and Gaurav Rajbhar, Technical Assistants of Assam University, other participants, research scholars and students were present during the entire program.
